Nat-Sciver Brunt: England captain makes history for Mumbai Indians by scoring first ever Women's Premier League century

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt has made history by becoming the first player to score a hundred in the Tata Women's Premier League (WPL).

Sciver-Brunt finished 100 not out from 57 deliveries, helping Mumbai Indians post 199-4 against Royal Challengers Benglaluru (RCB) at the Vadodara International Cricket Stadium on Monday.

The 33-year-old came in with Mumbai Indians on 16-1 and registered 16 fours and one maximum in her historic innings, where she put on a 129-run partnership with Hayley Matthews (56).

Sciver-Brunt brought up her century with a single in the final over, breaking the previous highest WPL individual score of 99 - held jointly Georgia Voll and Sophie Devine.

Voll's unbeaten 99 came from 56 deliveries for RCB against UPW Women in March 2025, while Devine's came from 36 balls for Gujarat Giants against RCB during the competition's debut 2023 campaign.

"Yeah, obviously I'd seen a few players get out in the 90s, so I didn't want to replicate that," Sciver-Brunt said after the innings. "But I also wanted to get as many runs as possible for the team. I'm really pleased we could get up to that total, and personally really happy as well.

"A first T20 one [century] for me, so happy to get over that I suppose milestone. Hopefully it's not the last!"

England's Lauren Bell took 2-21 from four overs for RCB, who slumped to 35-5 in reply before Richa Ghosh's quickfire innings saw them threaten the fourth-highest successful chase in WPL history.

Ghosh fired 10 fours and six maximums in her unbeaten 90 from 49 balls, although RCB fell short on 184-9 as Mumbai Indians completed a 15-run victory.
